Real Ministry with VeeVeca- Who are you... in trouble?

Exhortation: Who are you, in trouble?

Scripture in view: We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [2 Cor 4:8]
Trouble times like a frisbee zooms right in on you. Without thinking, you fling it away. Out of site. Out of mind. Then from out of nowhere, it comes right back to you. This time it gets your attention in the worse way. And no matter how you war, wait, wail, or win, disturbances come without notice. And the tough skin you thought you had is thinning fast. What do you do, now?

Taken from MSNBC News the article reads, "He said he spent the 11 days buried in the ruins of a hotel grocery store praying, reciting psalms and sleeping. "I wasn't afraid because I knew they were searching and would come for me," he said.

Are you buried in troubles? If so, take a lesson from this man. While his situation appeared the same, he looked beyond the circumstance opened his mouth and prayed, recited psalms and got some sleep. That's pro-active faith that says, "I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know I am going to make it out of this."

Wherever you find yourself at today, you have two choices: Stay in the rubble or get out. If getting out is your choice, I dare you to open your mouth and pray. ‘Recite psalms' or whatever scriptures you know. Say it out loud to yourself until you feel confidence growing. Don't stop. Keep repeating it. Then go to sleep. No matter the climb or struggle within, trust God with every heavy situation and circumstance. He is still the God of catching cares. His glove is never frayed or broken. Stay encouraged in the heavy– and move Forward.

We're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. [2 Corinthians 4:16-18 The Message]

Chasing God Poem by Veca

Chasing God by Veca

Lord, It's me and I am chasing after you

Wherever you go, it's me

following

tagging after

stepping in your shadow

My legs may be fat

My breathing all out of whack

I may even be a lil old

but whatever I have to do

I am chasing

running

even slow jogging- after you

I know you have to go the distance

to reach all of mankind

even those like me-others don't recognize

because we are not so haughty or even high minded

looking unchurched but somehow connected

sometimes in the most un-godly places

but I am chasing after you

running after you -- as fast as I can

following

tagging after

stepping in your shadow

to reach a world shattered by false religions

and stereotypical alibis of what is and what isn't You

Please slow down, Lord

I am chasing after your heart

your will

be done in earth as it is in heaven

even in this place that others think is so not you

I am chasing, running with all my strength~even all my might

to dwell in the secret place of the Most High

forsaking Me for thee

my flesh, desire, temptation

not my will but your will be done

in this place that seems too much for me to bare

I run-- I follow~tagging after

chasing where I end and begin--

I am in the shadow of the Almighty.

Real Ministry with VeeVeca- Determined 2 Win

Exhortation: Determined 2 Win

I am determined/destined to win in 2010! Kinda lame having a theme but who cares. It's mine and I am doing just that working hard to win in everything I put my hands to do. I made myself a list of things I want to accomplish and I am going to accomplish it all. What God has for me, it is for me. I hope you are just as inspired. Let these few scriptures ignite your determination to be your best!

• And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [Psalms 1:3]

• No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. [Isaiah 54:17]

• For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end [Jeremiah 29:11]

• For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. [Proverbs 23:18]

• So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. [Isaiah 55:11]

• Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: [Isaiah 59:1]

• Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: [Phil 1:6]

• For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly [Psalm 84:11]
No matter the climb or struggle within, trust God with every heavy situation and circumstance. He is still the God of catching cares. His glove is never frayed or broken. Stay encouraged in the heavy– and move Forward.

Real Ministry with VeeVeca-- Who is really bound?

Exhortation: Who is really bound?

Scripture in View: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. [2 Timothy 2:9]

God is not bound, but your thinking of God can be. When there are troubles in your life, how are you sitting?

Remember the Disney story of Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. Little Miss Bright eyes, Goldie Locks, had no idea that she was teaching a present day lesson- Fear keeps you bound, but faith gets you what you want.

Goldie Locks slipped into the house of the bears. Fascinated by choice, she began testing the water. Instinctively, she wanted to ‘feel out' every item of Momma Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear too, in comparison. She sat in their chairs, tested their beds, ate their food, and had the audacity to make loud affirmations of what each of those things felt like to her. Like Goldie Locks, you are sitting in the seat of choice.

How are you sitting today? Are you sitting in the seat of a little powerless out of control you. Or, are you engaging the unknown striking up the adage of ‘change is gonna come'? In review of your troubles, who is really bound- you or the thing desired? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. [Proverbs 30:5]

On my desk, I have a piece of art work that says, "If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it." Today is a great opportunity to start swimming.

No matter the climb or struggle within, trust God with every heavy situation and circumstance. He is still the God of catching cares. His glove is never frayed or broken.  Stay encouraged in the heavy– and move Forward.

Exhortation with VeeVeca-More than an Image

Exhortation: The Secret: More than an Image

When you look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see? Do you smile lovingly at yourself and declare, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." [Psalms 139:14] Are you smiling at yourself showing all of your beautiful teeth? Or, do you look at yourself distastefully with a growl and a heavy burden of dissatisfaction? This is your body, your temple, and you hate it.

Today, millions of people woke up without the secret. What secret is that? Glad you asked. The secret is this– You are more than an image.

From clay to egg to development, you were created by God in the image of himself. Your eyes, your nose, your ears and even the way your smile twitches when you laugh. It’s his mark of identity that claims you as his own. What if the twitch was God’s way of identifying you amongst all of his children?

Imagine this, we are in heaven. God calls for you, but he doesn’t call you by
your birth name. Rather, the father calls you by the birth mark. The very
identification imprint that he gave to distinguish you from all the rest. Dare
you believe that God is smarter than a fifth grader!
The Almighty Father made
the human frame and perfected genes and hormones, marrow and bones to come
together to construct a perfect you, in his own image.

The father calls out, "Twitch, where are you?" He looks over the whole crowd. His voice is soothing like waves moving in water. "Twitch, I am looking for you."

The children move about in hurried anticipation. Talk about the
old lady in the shoe having so many children she didn’t know what to do. With
God, that’s not a problem. He has many mansions and children to fit them all.
And he knows exactly what to do. "Twitch are you playing hide and
seek?"

You cover your mouth, but it doesn’t completely hide the twitch. No matter what you do the twitch never leaves. It’s your thorn in the flesh and your Achilles heel. You mumble, "Nobody loves how I look, not even me."

God is walking among his children. He sees Big Eyes over there. He smiles. He winks at Full Lips. Then he pats Big Ears on his way. Bald Head tells him a joke and they laugh out loud. Contrary to popular belief, the father loves to laugh with
his children. "Now , Twitch, where are you?" He says recovering from a hardy
laugh.

You hear the father’s voice. Your head hangs low. "If only I didn’t have this twitch," you think silently. Ah... Ah..." You sneeze pushing your head upward and your hands away from your lips.

"Well there you are, child." God’s face gleams with expectancy. "I’ve been looking for you. How are you today?"

What will you say? "Well dad you really screwed up when you made me. See this twitch here... It won’t let me in the right places, meet the best people. It’s sorta like a handicap. A bottle, I can’t unscrew. It’s the ugliest mess I’ve ever seen. I mean really, if I didn’t have this.... I.."

The father stares. "So, let me understand you. The twitch...
that I gave you doesn’t work for your image. It doesn’t profit you in this
world? And basically you are telling me that my craftsmanship of creation
is now unacceptable?"

If you had to stand face to face with God about your twitch, how would you
score?

There are millions of people who hate the skin they are in. Today, consider the maker of your body. God loves you just as you are. He wants you healthy, happy and free. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." [3 John 1:2]

No matter the climb or struggle within, trust God with every heavy situation and circumstance. He is still the God of catching cares. His glove is never frayed or broken.

Stay encouraged in the heavy– and move Forward

Excerpt from: Living a Five Star Life, by Betty Mahalik

In this day and age, we are surrounded by messages that virtually scream, "Your life would be perfect if..." My life would be perfect if I had a different job, a different house, car, nose, spouse, bank account (fill in the blank). Or my life would be perfect if I could be like some celebrity whose life appears so well-ordered and perfect-o. This week I encourage you to stop playing "my life would be perfect if," and start playing "my perfect life." What's the difference? Three things: being in the present, an attitude of gratitude, taking action with what's available now.

When we're caught up in the "my life would be perfect if" trap, we've lost touch with the present. And the moment we detach from the present, we can no longer practice gratitude. Think about it: it's difficult to be grateful for what you don't have...and what you don't have is always somewhere out in future-ville.

Look around you right now. Think of 10 things you're grateful for. Do you have a roof over your head and food to eat? I'm guessing the answer is yes. Do you have at least a few good friends or close relationships? Then appreciate them too, right now. Keep going, and practice being in the present and being grateful for what is here and now at least a couple times a day.

You're also probably sitting there thinking "yes but." Yes, but I want more money, a better relationship, more time to travel, to be thinner, happier or whatever. It's one of the great mysteries I'll never figure out. The minute you stop focusing on what you lack, start focusing on what you've already got, and add the "magic" ingredient of action, you actually begin to attract more of what you want. It's an amazing formula for really living your perfect life!

Let's say you want to lose weight or get in better shape, but you don't have an hour a day to spend exercising at the gym. Therefore, you've pretty well resigned yourself to not losing weight or getting in shape. What if you had five minutes though...just about everyone can find five minutes to exercise, stretch, walk around the block or walk the dog. Would you be willing to be grateful for five minutes and make the best possible use of it? Therein lies the beginning of your perfect life!

A simple formula may help you remember how to apply this principle:
The present
+ an attitude of gratitude
+ positive action
= my perfect life.

Try it for a day.
Each time you start dreaming about how perfect your life would be if...come back to this moment, give thanks for what is, and do one thing to perfect what you have and who you are right now. There's a saying that "when the student is ready, the teacher appears." If you're ready to start perfecting your life, your teachers are all around you.
