The Get Back

When you look in the mirror are you full of joy or empty of failed tries of trying to get back into shape? You stare into the image. A mean stomach laughs at you through your nice clothes. Are you like so many saying, "Whose body is this? And do I have to wake up every single day in it?"

What’s up with the hips? The dips in the thighs? Once upon a time, that stomach was rock hard and assumed to live happily ever after. A quick turn in the mirror and you see... back breast, love handles arranged like fresh biscuits, on the area once laid iron board flat.

Unaware to public eye, deep down in the fat chambers below, a thinner chiseled you exists. A plan to fight against the Fat Enemy has begun. It starts out with starvation and then with hard core relentless exercise.

The first five minutes of the walk is a breeze. "I got this. No biggie." Ten minutes pass. A burn surges up your legs. The burn feels like a thousand ants biting into your legs. Intense itching begins. "Do I stop to scratch or ignore it and go on?"
Isn’t it just like life. Just when you are trying to do a good thing, issues come up to make you question your actions. Life starts out on a easy keel but the very next step can be tumultuous.

On my walk into work, I had many thoughts along with hoping that the two mile walk would knock the Fat Enemy out of my ball park. But God reminded me of something else. My motto for 2009– walk with the heavy and keep on moving.
No matter the climb or struggle within, trust God with every heavy situation and circumstance. He is still the God of catching cares. His glove is never broken.

Stay encouraged in the heavy– and move Forward

My Kind of Serenity

My Kind of Serenity
"God grant me the SERENITY to ACCEPT the things I cannot CHANGE
COURAGE to CHANGE
the things I can
and WISDOM to know the DIFFERENCE!"
When I can’t see the forest from the trees
I fall... Good God Almighty to my knees
to you I call
It’s DEEP dooown in my soul
that your face I long to hold
that gives me strength when times get so hard and rough
on the days, when I feel no ways tough
when SERENITY ~seem farthest away
ACCEPTANCE so far at bay
that I can’t see the FOREST FROM THE TREES
Good God Almighty "IS THIS INSECURITY
that makes me feel without Courage...hmmmm
Wisdom and my my my YOUR KIND OF STRENGTH
when I’ve gone the distance and treaded the length
when my legs can’t bend
and prayers TOO blocked to be sent
somehow .. Someway
If you have to REACH WAY DOWN
I know you will be found
walking with me in the DAYS OF DARKNESS
and SHADOWS OF DEATH
when I don’t have nothing left
I realize then~~~ that I have it ALL
and it’s~ YOU~ that I call
when I can’t see the Forest from the TREES
as yet again, I CRAWL onto my knees
For the SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS...
I CANNOT CHANGE
COURAGE... TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN
and to finally have the WISDOM to know the Difference
Thank you my kind of ... SERENITY.

Closed hand Tight Fist

What’s harder-holding on or letting go? Sometimes both sides can be deliberately hard to choose. So what do you do when you don’t know what to do? Hold on to the sides of the ride because it may go fast and then again it may go slow. Either way, hold on.
Circumstances of life can often bring about many emotions. During the swing of feeling the ride of ups and downs, it becomes difficult to make conscious decisions. Therefore, never make a decision in desperation. Do what you can do?

Crazy in Life

At any second, I am going to lose my mind. " In today's reality so many are speaking the same language. "If one more negative thing happens, I will go bezerk." The economy is bad. Relationships can rock like the legs of a rocking chair. And just when it seems like too much is too much, the kids show out in behavior or crude individual expression. Who can handle all of this?

What's the answer? Take a deep breath. Wave your arms. Shake your bootie. God has not given you an insane mind. Remember that. Voice it as often as necessary. "For God hath not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." [2 Timothy 1:7 KJV]
Take flight and possess your world one breath one wave one shake at a time.

Choice: Lover or Child

Is it possible to choose your child over your spouse? Spouse over your child? It's been said everyday, "I wouldn't chose them over them." But the reality is, sometimes even you choose sides.

Example 1

The school calls. Your daughter is caught having sex in the boy's bathroom. You and your husband pick her up from school. At home, your husband/her father, beats her to a pulp. She runs out the door to run away. Do you run after her or to your husband?

Example 2
Wife claims step son is eating all of the food in the house. Constantly, she complains there is never enough groceries. She purposely hides food. When step son comes home part time job, there is no bread. He goes off on on step mom. Husband comes home from work. Who does he side with?

Example 3
Son and daughter claim no spiritual alliance. Father is okay. Mother is upset. Daughter dies blond hair black and begins wearing all black. Son is gay. Father tears off at son. Who does the mother console?

The reality is life is different for so many. Before you are quick to determine what you would never do, watch out you feet may be in like shoes.

I see

Musing Monday...

I SEE--
Through my little brown eye
I see
the hope of tomorrow
that today doesn't bring
as tears come
and tears go
looking beyond the pain
I s t r a i n
to see
God
vision obscurred
reality too hard
but I try
through my little brown eye
to see faith
even the size of a mustard seed

when all I have is
Hope
